What is MYZONE and How Can It Benefit You?

Working out can be tough. No matter what our individual goals are, whether we want to lose a few pounds, gain some muscle, become a better athlete or simply improve our overall health, it’s easy to lose motivation along the way. And when this motivation waxes and wanes, and possibly even disappears, the entire process of getting into the gym becomes a daunting task. So the key is to find the necessary tools to keep our motivation strong along the way.

What is MYZONE?

MYZONE is a state-of-the-art heart rate monitoring device that comes in the form of a comfortable and accurate chest strap (the MYZONE Physical Activity Belt). Once you secure the belt, your MYZONE device wirelessly uploads your exercise data during a workout and is displayed on a gym monitor or MYZONE smartphone app in live time as well as stored online for you to view at your own convenience on a personal account.

When viewing the screen, you are able to monitor your current heart rate in beats per minute (bpm), the percentage of your maximum heart rate, total calories burned (KCal) and MYZONE Effort Points (MEPs) that you have accumulated during your workout. There is also a background color on the screen that correlates with your heart rate training zone to further help you assess how hard you are working at the time.

As the data is uploaded online, MYZONE helps you view your workout in a convenient layout allowing you to create personal training goals and even set up challenges with your friends. Thirty minutes after your workout is completed, MYZONE sends you an email breaking down your workout in the following details: duration of workout, MEPs, total calories burned, average heart rate, and a link which allows you to further assess the workout on your own personal MYZONE account.

In addition to viewing a monitor at your gym, you can wear a MYZONE watch with your physical activity belt especially when you are working out away from the gym. The watch transfers your stats to the microchip inside your belt. Once you are inside the gym at the hotspot of the MYZONE console, the data from the microchip is wirelessly uploaded for you to assess at any time you want.

How can MYZONE benefit you?

A major goal behind using MYZONE is to spark your motivation during your workouts and throughout your fitness journey. Workouts are difficult enough, but something very powerful takes place when you can see how hard you are working by viewing your effort on a screen versus relying simply on how you are feeling at the moment. Being able to see your heart rate and calories burned as well as gaining MEPs helps you push through a tough workout. You’ll also find encouragement as you can track your progress and see how your body is becoming more efficient over time.

Another benefit of using this technology is that it uses a chest strap that is very accurate especially during a variety of workouts. Where other devices might use wrist-based technology, MYZONE relies on the accuracy of a chest strap to give you more precise feedback.

Additionally, you aren’t being measured on how much weight you are lifting or how fast you can do something. The playing field is leveled because MYZONE is measuring your effort which is individualized and controllable. This can be really motivating and less intimidating for people who might not be at the same fitness level of others in the class.

Lastly, MYZONE is compatible with a number of devices from various gym equipment, smartphones/watches, and tablets. And if you forget your phone or watch you don’t have to worry because of the MYZONE microchip, which wirelessly uploads your workout data.
